Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Review

Battle of the drugstore foundations Round 2! This contender is Maybelline's Fit me! Matte + Poreless foundation in 128 Warm Nude/Beige Chaud. It is made for Normal to Oily skin so I knew it'd be right up my alley!
I am officially in love! The shade was perfect which was shocking. It looked a bit too dark in the bottle, but matched me as if it were made for me. I can't say it enough, I am in love!
Do not judge me based on the first photo but I did not do anything to it. I literally only resized it to fit my blog. Not the greatest picture, but I wanted to show my area I struggle with - pores around my nose. If you read my previous foundation post then you already know that is why I hated that foundation. I do not have that problem with this at all! It sits nicely just on top of the skin.
Application: just like any liquid foundation. It applied nicely and evenly with my flat top brush (that I got off eBay for half the price of the Real Techniques brush although it's made by the same people). I would say this is high end medium coverage with one coat and total coverage when you apply more. You can build this up, but since it's a matte product I wouldn't do too much or you'll end up looking cakey. It kept my face looking matte without looking dead. It's funny how it can cover your face, but still look like skin. Foundation is a magical thing! You might not notice from the photo, but I have tons of freckles and 2 dark red acne scars that disappeared when I applied this.
Daily Wear: This wore like a dream! My face did not feel sticky or like I was wearing anything at all. I did not use a primer or a setting powder. I believe with matte foundations you should skip that step unless you have a severe oily face. I did not touch up anything nor did I use a blotting paper. I went outside in the sun on every break that I had while at work. I could feel my face wanting to be oily, but everything still looked great. Honestly, I think it looked better as time went on. I wore this for 9 hours and when I came home it looked just as good as when I first put it on. Nothing faded and my face did not eat it. I could still see my blush and everything. This is being added to my permanent collection. Now, everyone's skin is different. Generally as a rule if you have dry skin you should stay away from matte products. I do not feel that is the case with this. If you have severe dry patches this probably isn't for you, but I don't think a little dryness would hurt. It's true to it's claim of normal to oily skin.
My overall thoughts? Thus far this might be my favorite matte foundation I've ever tried. I get scared, honestly whenever I see that word on a foundation. I typically worry that it will look like powder on my face. I have tried high end brands such as the new Bareminerals Bareskin and even Hourglass and those looked disgusting on my face. There is nothing worse than makeup making your face look like it has scales and dry patches when you are an oily girl! I should have done a review on those, but oh well. The Fit Me line of products are continuing to prove awesome! Their powders are fantastic too, btw. I give this 2 huge thumbs up!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the informative review.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my all time favorite foundations that really give great coverage and makes my skin look flawless. I have a couple of bottles and love using them daily!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried any of their foundation, but it looks really nice!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this product. I have a few freckles I'd like to hide as well.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like great makeup.
ReplyDeleteI haven't even seen this yet, I'll have to give it a try. I don't wear makeup often but I never wear foundation because it just looks cakey no matter what I do, sounds like this might be the ticket!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear a matte product but this looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be an excellent liquid matte foundation. I also have problem areas/pores around my,nose.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a thorough review on the Maybelline foundation. It is true that this foundation looks wonderful on you; however, having such a gorgeous face probably means you look stunning without any makeup. I do know that most women look better with makeup. I know I do, so I may give this Maybelline a try.
ReplyDeleteI love Maybelline foundation! I don't have the hang of applying it with a brush yet, though!
