Goodbye 2014

You know how when you were younger, anyone you considered "old" would tell you about how fast time flies. Well, although I do not think I am grandma status or anything, I couldn't agree with them more! I blinked and 2014 was over. Here is a new year. I'm not a big fan of making New Years Resolutions because I feel you should constantly be making goals for yourself. However, I have created a whole new set for myself in 2015. What are your resolutions?
- Adopted my puppy, Gabby. She was almost 8 weeks old and the cutest thing I had ever seen! Got her July 19th. She's had a hard journey with sickness, but she's a fighter and every day brings joy into my life.
- Saw my sister for the first time in 6 years. Her husband is a Marine and they've been stationed in California which is literally the other side of the country. Due to finances, work, and timing we hadn't been able to visit with one another. In October they moved back to our home state and I got to see her and her husband (whom I consider a brother).
- Became a first time home owner. This is probably one of the most exciting things. I finally feel like an "adult' and purchased my first home. It's a great place and in a great neighborhood (be on the lookout for home decor and diy posts here on the blog).
- Love it Or List it. This show came on HGTV, however I had never heard of it before this year. I saw it was on Netflix and decided to give it a glance and became hooked! I love the idea of it plus it gives me ideas for my new home. A realtor and a designer go head and head to either find a new place for the homeowners to live or redo their current home. Addicting!
- Property Brothers. Another one of those shows that sucked me in and I had never even heard of it or the two twin brothers that star in it. They renovate people's homes and the transformations are amazing!
- Grimm. This is a newer show that I've fallen prey to. I've seen it advertised and heard others say it was really good, but didn't start watching it until I saw it on Amazon VOD. Watched one episode thinking I probably wouldn't like it and several hours later I was half way through season 1. Now I'm hooked!
- The Big Bang Theory. This is one of those shows that everyone and their brother have said was hilarious and I fought against watching it for some reason. I was way behind, but started from the beginning and am now on season 4. Makes me laugh and the characters are loveable.
- Maleficent. A vengeful fairy is driven to curse an infant princess, only to discover that the child may be the one person who can restore peace to their troubled land.
- The Maze Runner. Thomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they're all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow "runners" for a shot at escape.
- Dracula Untold. As his kingdom is being threatened by the Turks, young prince Vlad Tepes must become a monster feared by his own people in order to obtain the power needed to protect his own family, and the families of his kingdom.
- In Your Eyes. Two seemingly unconnected souls from different corners of the United States make a telepathic bond that allows them to see, hear and feel the others experiences, creating a bond that apparently can't be broken.
- Tammy. After losing her job and learning that her husband has been unfaithful, a woman hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother.
- No Good Deed. An unstable escaped convict terrorizes a woman who is alone with her two children.
- Housebound. Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. However, when she too becomes privy to unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder whether she's inherited her overactive imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed by a hostile spirit who's less than happy about the new living arrangement.
- Vampire Academy. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, half human-half vampire, a guardian of the Moroi, peaceful, mortal vampires living discreetly within our world. Her calling is to protect the Moroi from bloodthirsty, immortal Vampires, the Strigoi.

ReplyDeleteThe old cliche' about time passing by so quickly, being told this by older people back in the day, YES! TOTALLY, I HEAR YA! I'm 35 *gasp!* & honey, I swear it feels like just last year I was cruisin' town w/my girlfriends looking for something to get into, still wearing our High School Cheerleading uniforms after we'd cheered the game on Friday night!!! Lol So, yeah, truer words have never been spoken!!! Oh, and just wait till ya have a couple kiddos, THAT'S when things really take off at lightning speed!!! Like, scary-fast!!! ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to make time for myself,I just had my 4th daughter so I don't have a clue how to do that
ReplyDeleteI am old enough to be a grand ma but I'm not one yet and time dies fly. Even my daughter, now 21 but said when she was 18, says time just flys and she wants it to slow down. When I was her age time did not fly.
