Hello Spring!

6:53 PM

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been away. Not only have I been super busy with midterms and work, but I also had a personal tragedy that took up a lot of my time. However, all is well and I am back! I am working on an awesome blogging schedule so you'll be starting to see posts on a regular schedule. I've also been working on decorating so I forsee some DIY projects and hauls coming soon!

My most recent project has been my patio. It was such an ugly eyesore! I have a gate that leads to the parking lot outside there are several stepping stones. It was so ugly! It was covered in these awful pebbles that I would slide on and there were weeds galore! So I've been working on making it pretty, of course! (pictures coming in a separate post once I'm 100% finished).

My first quest was to find the perfect patio set - the right combination of price and quality. I searched and sought after sales, but could not decide. Finally I settled on this 6 piece set that I found at Walmart. The price is amazing! All of this for $98! Every time I went it was sold out so I figured it wasn't meant to be. However, today I finally snagged one for myself. The downside is it only comes in red. My expectations weren't very high considering the costs. I must admit it wasn't fun putting the legs on the table either! Took me forever and really wish I had a second set of hands. Finally the finished product is all put together and I must say that I'm impressed! I thought it was going to look crazy cheap, but it's totally adorable! It doesn't take up a lot of space, but seats 4 people comfortably.

I also picked up a bag of mulch thinking it would be enough for outside my gate area. I was so close! I only need about half of a bag to get the job done. I picked the bag up from Walmart as well. They also have some great deals going on in their flower section. I got a ton of flower sets for $5 each. So if you are looking to spruce up your patio or deck, I'd highly consider checking them out!

This was just a little update post. School is going great, work is great (well work is work, ha) and I am looking forward to posting again!

  6. That's a great patio set! We keep checking the Crate & Barrel outlet store for furniture more furniture, or estate sales as we pulled out our lawn and put in decomposed granite around raised veggie beds! So much to do!

  8. The patio set looks fantastic. I also bout an inexpensive set which I only thought would only last a couple years. 7 years later, I still have it. However, my set requires separate cushions. I would say it is good to buy expensive cushions as they hold up better. Otherwise you have to replace them every year.
